Frequently asked questions about fast charging stations
What’s the difference between DC fast charging and AC charging?
DC (direct current) charging converts the energy inside the charger itself and delivers it directly to the vehicle’s battery, allowing much higher power ratings (60-120 kW). AC charging uses the vehicle’s onboard charger, limiting the power to 7.4-22 kW.
Which vehicles is it compatible with?
It’s compatible with all electric vehicles that accept DC fast charging through CCS2, CHAdeMO or GB/T connectors depending on the unit’s configuration.
How long does it take to charge an electric car?
At 150 kW, a vehicle with a 75 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on the charging limit accepted by the vehicle.
Can it be integrated into a public charging network?
Yes, it’s compatible with the OCPP protocol and can be integrated into charging network management platforms for billing, booking and remote monitoring.
What maintenance does it require?
Maintenance is minimal. An annual inspection of the cooling system, electrical connections and firmware updates is recommended. Bexie offers preventive maintenance contracts.
