Overview

Bexie Energy’s BE200M9(B)-40(HC)FE flexible solar panel is a high-efficiency photovoltaic module designed for installations where conventional rigid panels aren’t viable. At just 3mm thick and very lightweight, it adapts to curved surfaces, non-structural roofs and vehicles without the need for complex mounting structures.

Its N-Type monocrystalline technology with half-cut cells delivers exceptional performance even under low-irradiance or extreme-temperature conditions, making it the ideal solution for mobile, marine and motorhome applications.

Technical specifications of the 200W flexible solar panel

  • Power: 200 W
  • Technology: N-Type monocrystalline (M9)
  • Cells: 40 half-cut (HC)
  • Dimensions: 1130 x 900 x 3 mm
  • Thickness: just 3 mm
  • Type: flexible (FE)

Applications of the flexible solar panel

  • Camper vans and motorhomes
  • Boats and leisure vessels
  • Curved roofs or non-flat surfaces
  • Roofs with structural load limitations
  • Temporary or portable installations
  • Fibre cement roofs or materials unsuitable for conventional mounting
  • Greenhouses and lightweight agricultural structures

Advantages of the flexible solar panel over rigid panels

  • Adapts to curved surfaces — bend radius of up to 30°
  • Very low weight — ideal for vehicles and boats
  • No metal mounting structure required
  • Direct installation with adhesive or lightweight fasteners
  • Just 3mm thick — virtually imperceptible on the surface
  • Resistant to vibrations, impact and harsh weather conditions

N-Type half-cut technology in a flexible module

Half-cut cells split each solar cell in two, reducing internal resistance and improving performance under partial shading — particularly important in mobile installations where shading from nearby objects is common.

N-Type technology guarantees lower annual degradation and better performance under high-temperature conditions, which is especially relevant in installations on vehicles or boats exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.

Installation of the flexible solar panel

Installing this module is significantly easier than for a conventional rigid panel:

  • No metal support structure required
  • Compatible with UV- and heat-resistant high-strength adhesives
  • Can also be installed with lightweight perimeter fasteners
  • Downloadable quick installation guide included
  • Minimal weight — no structural reinforcement of the surface required

Performance under adverse conditions

N-Type monocrystalline technology with half-cut cells delivers superior performance under real-world conditions:

  • High output on cloudy days thanks to sensitivity to diffuse light
  • Lower efficiency loss under high temperatures
  • Improved tolerance to partial shading thanks to the half-cut design
  • Low annual degradation — maintains its power output over the years

Integration with the energy system

This flexible solar panel can be combined with our compact hybrid inverters and portable storage batteries for fully autonomous mobile self-consumption systems. Take a look as well at our full solar panel catalogue for other options to suit your installation.

Frequently asked questions about flexible solar panels

How much can a flexible solar panel be bent?

The BE200M9(B)-40(HC)FE module supports a bend radius of up to approximately 30°, which makes it suitable for slightly curved roofs of camper vans, caravans or boats. It must not be bent beyond this limit to avoid damaging the cells.

How is a flexible solar panel installed?

The most common installation method is using a UV- and heat-resistant high-strength adhesive applied to the back of the panel. It can also be installed with lightweight perimeter fasteners. Refer to the downloadable installation guide for detailed instructions.

Does it produce the same as a rigid 200W panel?

Under ideal conditions, the output is equivalent. In installations on vehicles with frequent shading, the half-cut technology improves performance compared with conventional modules of the same type. The main difference compared with a high-efficiency rigid panel is the slightly higher cost per Wp of the flexible version.

Is it suitable for marine use or on boats?

Yes, the module’s materials are resistant to humidity, salt and the harsh weather conditions typical of the marine environment. It’s a very popular solution on sailing yachts and motor boats for on-board battery charging.

Can I install it on the fibreglass of a motorhome?

Yes, it’s compatible with fibreglass, aluminium, EPDM and most recreational vehicle roof materials. The right adhesive guarantees a permanent fixing without damaging the surface.
