All-in-one DHW heat pump – Series S (wall-mounted)
All-in-one air source heat pump for domestic hot water with integrated tank for wall-mounted installation. Available in 100L and 150L. Extracts energy from the outside air and generates up to 4 times more heat than an electric water heater with the same consumption, reducing energy bills and CO₂ emissions. Ideal for homes with limited space.
Overview
Bexie Energy’s Series S wall-mounted DHW heat pump is the compact air source solution for homes and apartments where space is a critical factor. With wall-mounted installation and an integrated 100 or 150L tank, it directly replaces conventional electric water heaters while harnessing energy from the air to quadruple system efficiency.
Unlike the floor-standing version, the Series S wall-mounted takes up the same space as a conventional water heater and is installed in the same location, with no need for a plant room or additional floor space.
Technical specifications of the wall-mounted DHW heat pump
- Type: all-in-one air source heat pump (integrated tank)
- Installation: wall-mounted
- 100L capacity: 560mm (ø) x 1450mm (H)
- 150L capacity: 560mm (ø) x 1480mm (H)
- Efficiency: COP up to 4 — 4 times more efficient than an electric water heater
- Energy source: outside air (air source)
- Use: domestic hot water (DHW)
Differences between the wall-mounted and floor-standing versions
- Installation: wall-mounted vs floor-standing — takes up the same space as a conventional water heater
- Capacity: 100-150L (wall-mounted) vs 200-300L (floor-standing) — ideal for 1-3 people
- Ideal for: apartments, flats and homes without a plant room
- Direct replacement: replaces the existing electric water heater with no additional works
Advantages over conventional electric water heaters
- Up to 4 times more efficient — same comfort, much less consumption
- Savings of up to 75% on hot water bills
- No direct CO₂ emissions at the point of use
- Installation in the same space as the current water heater — no works required
- Compatible with solar PV for zero-cost operation
- Eligible for the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme and other clean heat incentives
Advantages over gas boilers for DHW
- No dependence on the price of natural gas or LPG
- No mandatory annual gas inspections
- No risk of leaks or combustion-related poisoning
- Greater safety in homes with children or elderly people
- Lower environmental impact and carbon footprint
- This wall-mounted DHW heat pump is particularly recommended for retrofit projects where an existing electric water heater is being replaced.
Applications of the wall-mounted DHW heat pump
- Apartments and flats with no space for floor-standing installation
- Homes with 1 to 3 occupants
- Replacement of electric water heaters in kitchen or bathroom refurbishments
- Second homes or seasonal-use properties
- Installations with solar PV production
- Homes without a gas installation looking for maximum efficiency
How air source heat pumps work for hot water
The heat pump extracts the thermal energy from the air in the room where it’s installed — whether kitchen, bathroom or utility room — and transfers it to the water in the tank through a refrigeration circuit. This process consumes very little electricity compared with the thermal energy it generates.
In combination with solar PV panels, the cost of producing hot water can be reduced to virtually zero during peak solar production hours.
Integration with the Bexie energy system
This heat pump can be combined with our solar PV panels and hybrid inverters to produce hot water with solar energy at virtually zero cost. Take a look as well at the Series S floor-standing version with greater capacity (200-300L) if you need a higher volume of hot water.
Frequently asked questions about wall-mounted hot water heat pumps
Can I install it in the same place as my current electric water heater?
Yes, the Series S wall-mounted is designed to take up the same space as a conventional electric water heater. With similar dimensions and standard connections, replacement is straightforward in most cases with no need for additional works.
What capacity do I need depending on the number of people?
The 100L model is suitable for 1-2 people with moderate consumption. The 150L covers the needs of 2-3 people. For larger households, we recommend the floor-standing version with capacities of 200 or 300L.
Does it need special installation or can any plumber install it?
Installation is similar to that of a standard electric water heater, with the addition of a power connection and a drain for condensation. Any plumbing installer with basic HVAC knowledge can carry it out. Bexie Energy offers an installation service throughout Spain.
Does it work well in cold climates?
Yes, it works down to air temperatures of -7°C to -15°C depending on the model. Its performance decreases with the cold but it always remains superior to that of a conventional electric water heater.
Are there any grants or incentives available?
Yes, air source heat pumps can qualify for the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which provides grants of up to £7,500 for replacing fossil fuel heating with low-carbon alternatives, as well as other regional clean heat incentives. Contact our team to find out about the schemes available in your area.
