What is the Solar Backup Box and what is it for?
The Solar Backup Box is the component that manages the switchover between the electricity grid and the storage system (battery) during a grid outage. Without a Solar Backup Box, many hybrid inverters can’t switch to island mode automatically or do so with a perceptible delay that may restart sensitive electronic equipment.

What are anti-islanding regulations?
Anti-islanding regulations require photovoltaic inverters to automatically disconnect from the grid when a supply interruption occurs, to prevent the solar installation from continuing to inject energy into the grid while maintenance technicians are working on it.
